Mission
As an Environment Analyst Engineer at PLD Space your main mission within the area will consist of Life Cycle Analysis based on the UNE-EN-ISO 14040 and UNE-EN-ISO 14044 standards and the ESA LCA Manual.
Responsibilities
- Analysis of resource consumption within the organization's and product's geographic scope.
- Analysis of environmental impacts.
- Liaising with the engineering and production departments to gather information relevant to the LCA.
- Build, maintain, and update environmental datasets with high data quality and traceability, ensuring consistency and completeness of Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data.
- Model Life Cycle Inventories (LCI) using specific tools.
- Perform sensitivity, uncertainty and scenario analyses.
- Assess impact categories such as carbon footprint, water depletion, eutrophication, acidification, and resource use.
- Preparation of a results report in accordance with ISO 14040.
- Identify environmental hotspots across the product life cycle and prepare an Impact Reduction Plan and Monitoring Plan.
- Lead impact reduction activities within the scope of the role.
- Monitoring of environmental indicators related with the LCA.
- Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
Necessary Competencies
- Education: Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering.
- Training in environmental issues and continuous improvement.
Required Knowledge
- Knowledge of UNE-EN-ISO 14040 and UNE-EN-ISO 14044.
- Knowledge ESA LCA Database and Handbook
- Use of SimaPro software (highly desired).
- Proactivity.
- Expert handling of the Office suite and digital tools (ERP).
