About PLD Space

PLD Space is an international space services company with in-house engineering and manufacturing. It is dedicated to transporting satellites and humans into space, vertically integrating engineering, testing, manufacturing and operations of its reusable and sustainable rockets. Headquartered in Elche (Spain) and founded in 2011 by Raúl Torres and Raúl Verdú, PLD Space has established itself as a global benchmark in the space launcher sector. Its MIURA family of launchers and its LINCE manned capsule position the company as a leader in European technological sovereignty in space transportation, covering the full range of space missions.

With a team of more than 350 employees and 220 million in total funding, PLD Space also has the largest private test benches in Europe, located in Teruel (Spain), and operates a launch base in the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), in Kourou (French Guiana). In total, it has more than 188,000m2 of industrial infrastructures under management.

Teamwork, courage, determination and ambition enable PLD Space to guarantee an autonomous, independent satellite space access capability, based on reliability at a globally competitive price. The company is able to offer best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies and national and international governmental entities.

  • Development, implementation, and optimization of assembly procedures and technical approaches for the launch vehicle primary and secondary structures: assembly manuals, work orders, post-assembly inspections and reports... Continuous improvement of assembly processes (based on lessons learned) to bring products from prototype to high-volume production.
  • Assembly of aerospace structures, rocket engines, fluid systems and others. Monitor/supervise assembly processes (drilling, mechanical, sealing…) of aerospace primary structure (mainly metallic and composite parts) and secondary structure (rigid pipes brackets, valves support, electrical and avionics equipment supports and harness fixations to structure).
  • Technical support and problem-solving during assembly procedures.
  • Coordination with dedicated departments for specific tooling needs and development requirements.
  • Support organizing, assigning, and tracking work/deliverables for the assembly team.
  • Reporting and working closely with Program management to meet deadlines and milestones, active participation in production control and implementation of improvement methods.
  • Concurrence activities with our design engineers and supply chain department in evolving our designs to improve quality, reducing assembly timing and simplify operations in general.
  • In charge of implementing processes in a rapidly evolving production environment.
  • Collaboration with design and manufacturing of tooling and support equipment to facilitate hardware assembly.
